At Maple Bear Surubi’i Paraguay, our greater purpose is to empower students to build a better world. We achieve this through values that guide us every day: empathy to understand others’ perspectives, reflect, act, and build positive connections; excellence to always do our best and exceed expectations; commitment to go beyond our responsibilities; and creativity to challenge patterns and embrace Canadian educational principles by working collaboratively, valuing differences, making decisions, and learning with passion.

Today, we are part of an educational institution with more than 20 years of experience, 450 schools in 37 countries, and 66,000 students enrolled worldwide confirming that we are truly an international and multicultural institution.

OUR ACADEMIC TEAM

At Maple Bear Surubi’i Paraguay, we are fortunate to have two groups of outstanding educators. The first is the Maple Bear Faculty, composed of a prestigious team of Canadian educators responsible for developing our exclusive and specialized curriculum and continuously updating materials to reflect the latest Canadian research and educational practices. Each year, they visit our school to train and support our local teachers in implementing the program, while also serving as Quality Assessors to ensure that Maple Bear Surubi’i Paraguay meets the highest standards of excellence.

The second group is made up of dedicated teachers who work with students on a daily basis, implementing the methodology in the classroom. All of them have strong professional training, are bilingual, bring valuable teaching experience, and possess the unique qualities and character required to work effectively with students of different ages.

OUR STUDENTS

Being a Maple Bear student opens doors to a world of extraordinary opportunities. We offer a high-quality international education that prepares students for the global job market. EDUCATIONAL MODEL

WY CANADIAN EDUCATION?

Canada’s education system consistently ranks among the best in the world. In the 2022 OECD Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), Canada achieved eighth place globally and first among English-speaking countries, outperforming the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia in science, mathematics, and reading.

Canada is a global leader in bilingual education. Since the 1960s, it has established a strong academic foundation in language immersion, supported by research showing that bilingual education provides lifelong cognitive benefits.

Furthermore, Canadian education fosters key socio-emotional skills such as empathy and resilience through an inclusive curriculum and student-centered methods, prioritizing emotional well-being within a supportive learning environment.

ACADEMIC PROGRAM

The program offered at Maple Bear Surubi’i Paraguay is structured around seven main pillars and is designed to educate the child holistically: physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially. Here, every aspect of student development matters, and we are committed to creating experiences that inspire curiosity and a love for learning.

We place the student at the center of everything as an active and autonomous individual, taking ownership of their own learning through experimentation and discovery, guided by teachers who understand their reality and act as mentors or coaches.

We prioritize the development of socio-emotional skills and the overall well-being of our students. We foster empathy, resilience, and collaboration within a safe and welcoming environment. Our students learn to manage their emotions and regulate their behavior in an inclusive setting.

We provide bilingual immersion education using various strategies, techniques, and instructional methods to deliver content in two languages. In the early years, instruction is 100% in English, and from primary school onwards, 50% of lessons are in the students’ native language. Students do not take English classes—they learn in English.

We employ inquiry-based techniques, encouraging students through multiple approaches, including small-group discussions and guided learning. Rather than memorizing facts and materials, students learn by doing. This approach allows them to construct knowledge through exploration, experience, and discussion.

We promote outstanding play-based learning strategies, helping students develop holistically through socio-emotional learning, building confidence and motivation, and practicing cognitive skills.

We use a sophisticated set of learning resources, including books, manipulatives, visual aids, electronic media, and computer technology. These resources enrich our educational experience, allowing students to explore, interact, and learn dynamically, ensuring a deep and lasting understanding of concepts.

All our content is aligned with the challenges of the 21st century, including the need to think critically about information, adapt to constant technological changes, cope with accelerated knowledge production, engage in global integration, and manage the complexity of multidisciplinary projects, among others.

FACILITIES

Maple Bear Surubi’i Paraguay features a unique and distinctive architecture that reflects our Canadian identity, complies with the regulations set by the Ministry of Education, and meets the structural and spatial standards required by the educational model we offer, including social, sports, academic, and recreational areas. Our facilities are safe, spacious, modern, engaging, and equipped with the latest materials and technology.

A classroom at Maple Bear Surubi’i Paraguay is unlike traditional settings; we follow the philosophy of “The Classroom as the Third Teacher”, where the environment itself becomes an active participant in the learning process. Spaces are intentionally designed to foster curiosity, exploration, and collaboration.

Open areas for group projects, corners for independent reading, displays showcasing student work, and various thematic learning centers are designed for individual or group activities, covering specific subjects such as mathematics, science, reading, and the arts.

Materials are easily accessible, sparking creativity, encouraging exploration, and enabling hands-on, participatory, student-directed learning. This philosophy complements the traditional roles of teachers and parents, creating a stimulating and supportive environment where students can thrive.

This pedagogical approach provides multiple powerful benefits, including an inspiring environment, promotion of collaboration and communication, support for diverse learning styles, facilitation of independence and responsibility, creation of a sense of community and ownership, cultural and environmental awareness, and continuous learning and adaptation, among others.
